Gwadar is a port city of Pakistan on the western coast of Baluchistan, Pakistan. It is one of the largest deep sea port in the world. Gwadar city is located on the shores of Arabian Sea opposite to Oman. Gwadar city is hundred largest city of Pakistan. The main industrial concern of this city is a fish processing factory through which fish is exported in various countries. Salt is also obtained by evaporation of the sea water.

It was under possession of Oman from 1783 to 1985. In 1954 Pakistan observed that it is a deep water port and can be very beneficial. Pakistan purchased it from Oman on 8th September 1958. It was officially became part of Pakistan on 8th December 1958.
This port help to increase Pakistan's trade and commercial activities particularly in Baluchistan. In present times the development of Pakistan, Central Asia and Afghanistan is not possible without developing Gwadar port. Pakistan couldn't make it operational with its limited financial resources so China step forwarded and helped Pakistan to construct it. It will become the lifeline in the economic development of Pakistan.
